New York, Cleaning & Graduation

We have a busy week ahead of us...luckily I finally got my massage yesterday, it was AMAZING! Now I'm ready for the crazy week. Jullien leaves for a quick trip to New York again. He has his last final tomorrow and then on Tuesday he has his MANDATORY graduation walk through. Which means he fly's out on Sat. at 7:00 a.m, may have a photo shoot on Sunday and then a HUGE audition on Monday (can't say who yet because I don't want to jinx it...LOL). Then jumps on a plane Monday evening to be back for his walk through.

I have tons of cleaning to do and I am the world's worst procrastinator. All the family and friends will be coming over for an Open House Graduation party next Thursday, immediately following the graduation ceremony. My house has gotten so out of control that I don't know where to even begin. Do you ever feel like that? You start cleaning and then get overwhelmed and think, "What's the use!" This happens to me just about every weekend. Now I don't have a choice, so Saturday I'll take Jullien to the airport and then come home and get started (window washing, dusting, shredding all the piles of stacked paper...you know, the fun stuff).

Is it time for my vacation yet?

Nickelodeon's BrainSurge-They Both Made It

Elijah and Adam both tried out for Nickelodeon's new game show. Adam was the first one to be contacted and went down for a taping last week. But they had over booked the kids (they had informed us that they usually do this in case some kids don't show up.) They asked if Adam could come back on a later date because we live closer than most of the other kids. Anthony wasn't to happy (he is not the type to sit around all day for nothing), but he said, "Okay."

When he got home he told me that they also wanted Elijah to do a show. So we are now re-booked and I will take both boys back in two weeks for their taping. I was hoping that they would be on the same show (the two step-brother's are a crack up when they're together), but they said they will need to do it separately...darn it!

They are really excited and I'll let you all know how it goes and when it will air.

Nickelodeon's-BrainSurge Audition Recap

WATCH ELIJAH'S EPISODE ON WED. DECEMBER 2nd, 2009!

I have to say that the whole audition process wasn't too bad. We went there fully prepared, I had my notepad to write some more pages for my book. My hubby had a book and notepad to do some homework he had from a class he's taking. We had our candy bars and soda...what else could we possibly need?

I couldn't believe how many kids were there from out of state. I guess they all come down here with a parent for "pilot season" (new show audition period), rent a house and then go back home if they don't book a gig. Some of these actor kids were VERY animated...can I say to the point of being annoying without sounding too mean? It's a very different lifestyle that's for sure.

Adam (my step-son) came too and tried out with Elijah. I thought he would light up the stage because he is such a clown. We couldn't believe how different he was in front of the camera...he froze up. That was really unexpected!

I don't know if they'll get it or not, but if we don't hear anything by the end of March (they didn't get it.) Actually, it's no big deal to them...it was just a new and interesting experience. I like adventure...so I drive my family crazy with all my spur of the moment ideas. You have to have some kind of excitement as you get older, right?!?

My sheltered little Orange County boys didn't care for Melrose Ave. too much. It was late and dark when we got down there. Most of the stores were closed, but there were some freaky people walking around. The kids kept looking over their shoulder a little nervous. Adam had to go to the bathroom and couldn't find a restroom. Anthony decides to take him to this back alley. He starts to pee and then Anthony takes off running...Adam is freaked out and starts running after him, with his pants down still peeing. He ended up getting it all over his pants. We were laughing so hard (mean parents)! That would have been a great funny story to use...if only it had happened before the audition.
