Easter with Grandpa

For Easter we went to Stacy's and had a nice visit with Grandpa Tunget. He looked great and was still the same old feisty, jokster! I need to make a point of calling him more often, I always feel so guilty because I'm so bad at calling everyone.

Stace made one of her DELICIOUS dinner's (sorry you guys all missed out)! I thought everyone would enjoy seeing some pictures so I've posted a couple. Sorry about the lighting but I didn't want to make him get up and move into better lighting so I just made due with what we had.

Bugging People

So today I was in one of my moods where I like to just mess around and bug everyone in my family. I got my camera out again and this time Jullien's girlfriend Chelsea was over so I made you sit through picture after picture as I tried different settings. They were both telling me to STOP ALREADY, but I kept laughing and told them NO! Then I decided to annoy Anthony and started taking pics of him and well I guess you get the picture...Ha Ha.

I also am going to post some pictures of Elijah and Adam at their friend Trenton's birthday party....it was a Hollywood Movie Star Theme and Elijah Was Derek Zoolander and did the face perfect! So check out my pics.....

This Will Give You Chills

Someone emailed this to me and I wanted to share it with you guys. Unfortunatley there was not any information as to who the author is, but I'm sure it will leave you speachless....

AFTER A FEW OF THE USUAL SUNDAY EVENING HYMNS,THE CHURCH'S PASTOR SLOWLY STOOD UP, WALKED OVER TO THE PULPIT AND, BEFORE HE GAVE
HIS SERMON FOR THE EVENING, HE BRIEFLY INTRODUCED A GUEST MINISTER WHO WAS IN THE SERVICE THAT EVENING. IN THE INTRODUCTION, THE PASTOR TOLD THE CONGREGATION THAT THE GUEST MINISTER WAS ONE OF HIS DEAREST CHILDHOOD FRIENDS AND THAT HE WANTED HIM TO HAVE A FEW MOMENTS TO GREET THE CHURCH AND SHARE WHATEVER HE FELT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE SERVICE.

WITH THAT, AN ELDERLY MAN STEPPED UP TO THE PULPIT AND BEGAN TO SPEAK. “A FATHER, HIS SON, AND A FRIEND OF HIS SON WERE SAILING OFF THE PACIFIC COAST,” HE BEGAN,“WHEN A FAST APPROACHING STORM BLOCKED ANY ATTEMPT TO GET BACK TO THE SHORE. THE WAVES WERE SO HIGH, THAT EVEN THOUGH THE FATHER WAS AN EXPERIENCED SAILOR, HE COULD NOT KEEP THE BOAT UPRIGHT AND THE THREE WERE SWEPT INTO THE OCEAN AS THE BOAT CAPSIZED.”

THE OLD MAN HESITATED FOR A MOMENT, MAKING EYE CONTACT WITH TWO TEENAGERS WHO WERE, FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE SERVICE BEGAN, LOOKING SOMEWHAT INTERESTED IN HIS STORY. THE AGED MINISTER CONTINUED WITH HIS STORY, “GRABBING A RESCUE LINE, THE FATHER HAD TO MAKE THE MOST EXCRUCIATING DECISION OF HIS LIFE: TO WHICH BOY WOULD HE THROW THE OTHER END OF THE LIFE LINE. HE ONLY HAD SECONDS TO MAKE THE DECISION. THE FATHER KNEW THAT HIS SON WAS A CHRISTIAN AND HE, ALSO, KNEW THAT HIS SON'S FRIEND WAS NOT. THE AGONY OF HIS DECISION COULD NOT BE MATCHED BY THE TORRENT OF WAVES.” AS THE FATHER YELLED OUT, 'I LOVE YOU, SON!' HE THREW OUT THE LIFE LINE TO HIS SON'S FRIEND. BY THE TIME THE FATHER HAD PULLED THE FRIEND BACK TO THE CAPSIZED BOAT, HIS SON HAD DISAPPEARED BENEATH THE RAGING SWELLS INTO THE BLACK OF NIGHT. HIS BODY WAS NEVER RECOVERED.

BY THIS TIME, THE TWO TEENAGERS WERE SITTING UP STRAIGHT IN THE PEW,
ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THE NEXT WORDS TO COME OUT OF THE OLD MINISTER'S MOUTH. “THE FATHER,” HE CONTINUED, KNEW HIS SON WOULD STEP INTO ETERNITY WITH JESUS AND HE COULD NOT BEAR THE THOUGHT OF HIS SON'S FRIEND STEPPING INTO AN ETERNITY WITHOUT JESUS...THEREFORE, HE SACRIFICED HIS SON TO SAVE THE SON'S FRIEND.

"HOW GREAT IS THE LOVE OF GOD THAT HE SHOULD DO THE SAME FOR US. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER SACRIFICED IS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WE COULD BE SAVED. I URGE YOU TO ACCEPT HIS OFFER TO RESCUE YOU AND TAKE A HOLD OF THE LIFE LINE HE IS THROWING OUT TO YOU IN THIS SERVICE." WITH THAT, THE OLD MAN TURNED AND SAT BACK DOWN IN HIS CHAIR AS SILENCE FILLED THE ROOM.

THE PASTOR WALKED SLOWLY TO THE PULPIT AND DELIVERED A BRIEF SERMON. WITHIN MINUTES AFTER THE SERVICE ENDED, THE TWO TEENAGERS WERE AT THE OLD MAN'S SIDE. "THAT WAS A NICE STORY, BUT UNREALISTIC" THEY SAID POLITELY, "FOR A FATHER TO GIVE UP HIS ONLY SON'S LIFE IN HOPES THAT THE OTHER BOY WOULD BECOME A CHRISTIAN." "WELL, YOU'VE GOT A POINT THERE," THE OLD MAN REPLIED, GLANCING DOWN AT HIS WORN BIBLE. A BIG SMILE BROADENED HIS NARROW FACE.

HE ONCE AGAIN LOOKED UP AT THE BOYS AND SAID, "IT SURE ISN'T VERY REALISTIC, IS IT? BUT, I'M STANDING HERE TODAY TO TELL YOU THAT STORY GIVES ME A GLIMPSE OF WHAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN LIKE FOR GOD TO GIVE UP HIS SON FOR ME. YOU SEE...I WAS THAT FATHER AND YOUR PASTOR IS MY SON'S FRIEND.'

Track Events

Yesterday Elijah and Adam ran in the city track meet. This is an annual event and the boys have actually been training with the High School Track coach everyday leading up to the event. They did really well, Elijah place 2nd in the 400 meters (wasn't happy about getting 2nd) and 1st in the 200 meters. He now qualifies for the Orange County Meet. Adam placed fifth in the 400 meters and he qualified in the high jump after jumping 4'1. He was really excited because he usually doesn't qualify for the next level.

So I'll try to figure out how to add their video of the event to the blog and let everyone watch it (almost like you were there)!

Remember to find a way to make a difference in someones life tomorrow.....and yes, even though its MONDAY!!LOL!

I Had A Really Cool Experience

Today I picked the kids up from school after a pretty stressful day at work. We pulled up to a stop light and had the windows down because it was pretty warm. We were talking about that movie Leatherheads that is coming out soon when all of a sudden an older lady that pulled up next to us said, "I need to tell you something, I need to tell you that the Lord loves you and you need to remember that." We were all a little shocked and I said, "Thank you, he loves you also." She said, "I know," and drove off. The boys turned to me and said, "Wow, that was really cool...it was so random....but awesome."

I dropped the kids off at track and felt a little choked up. How often does something like that happen? It's really nice to have someone remind you how much you're cared for. I felt such a peace and happiness come over me. Later Anthony and I went to the beach to walk Allie and I took some pictures of the sunset.

I can't stress enough how random acts of kindness can make a difference in someone's day! Today I just happened to be the lucky recipient. GO OUT AND CHANGE SOMEONES LIFE!

Today is Better Than Yesterday

Do you ever have those days where you wake up and all you can think about is all the things you have to accomplish? Yesterday was a challenge for me because from the time I got up until I went to sleep I just felt anxious, stressed and overwhelmed. I spent my day stressed and edgy. When I picked up my son I had no patience for his bad attitude and proceeded to let him have it the rest of the night.

Today I woke up determined to have a better day! I read my scriptures said a prayer and asked for help in dealing with my stress and can you believe...My prayers were answered! The many tasks still hang over my head again today however I made a choice to turn it over to Heavenly Father and not try to handle everything by myself!

So when you have "one of those days", make a decision to let it go and give it to the one person who waits for you to ASK for his help!
