The Game-The Wedding and Race for the Cure

We lost our football game last night by 7 points, but considering how many penalties we had & that our starting quarterback went out hurt, I have to say that most of the parents were pleased w/ that score, it could've been worse.

Tonight's the wedding & after all of your help on my "Fashion Police: I Need Help" & the fact that I found out the bridesmaids will be wearing long black dresses, I've decided to wear it. Thanks for ALL your comments/help! I think I'm going to turn to you guys all the time for my questionable fashion outfits!

On Sunday my friend/manager Marsha, my bosses wife, Marianne Park (who has beaten breast cancer) & a few more friends will be walking in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (click link to find a race in your area).

I will also be walking in honor of my friend
Joanne Phillips who passed away last year from this terrible disease.

Most of us feel so helpless when we/ or our loved ones are struck by cancer. I've made a decision to try to be pro active in helping raise money for the research & ultimate cure of ALL cancer. It doesn't take much to get up early on a Sunday morning, pay $35.00 (each) & get a group of friends together to walk or run a 5K.

It's simple...and it WILL make a difference.

A Celebration of Life

It was a very different weekend, we celebrated Jullien's almost 18th birthday on Friday because he will be in NY on his real birthday, Nov. 14th. On Sunday we attended a "Celebration of Life" service for our dear friend Joanne Phillips who recently lost her 10 year battle with breast cancer. I have to say that it was one of the most inspiring services I've ever attended. You see, Joanne was a woman who brought sunshine into a room. She always made you feel as if you were the most important person around. She never let on to anyone how sick she was or how much pain she was in...she had a cheery smile, warm hug and sincere interest in everything that was happening in YOUR life.

At her service, one of the speakers asked for audience participation. He asked everyone to close their eyes and picture Joanne, then he went through a series of questions. The final one asking, " Now, while your picturing Joanne, do any of you picture a woman battling cancer? Raise your hands." Not one single person lifted their arm.

At the end of his talk, he concluded with having everyone stand up and giving the loudest standing ovation to Joanne. This was who she was, she didn't want a funeral...she wanted a celebration of life. She wanted others to know about Jesus and that she was now free of all her pain that she so bravely hid.

She was a fighter and part of that fight included being positive. Her strength, determination, joy and spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. She blessed so many people's lives. I know I personally want to strive to be a better person. One who doesn't sit around complaining about problems in my life or aches and pains I may be having.

Race For the Cure/Homecoming

We won the Varsity Football game and because it was such a HUGE match up, we were on the front page of the Orange County Register...YAY Chargers!

Homecoming was on Saturday and Elijah got to attend his first High School dance. Of course I had to annoy everyone with my endless pictures. Adam and Elijah wouldn't stop making their stupid faces. Then my husband stepped up to put the clamp on them.




Anthony threatened them (via the choke hold) and finally got some good pics





Then it was off for more pictures with all of the friends in front of the Hummer Limo (a.k.a. Pimp Mobile...LOL!)



These boys have known each other since they were 5 years old!

These were "friends"...but I think Elijah & the girl in the yellow like each other!


They had a good time, that's all they would tell me about the night...I'll need to do some snooping but I couldn't get any other info...I'll need to question their friends, they always give me details.
