Today we were driving back from my father in laws house...we did an early Father's Day since they're leaving for a 1 month vacation to Canada. On the drive, my hubby was talking to his son Adam who was sitting in the back seat. He was starting to get a little bugged & flustered with him. When he finished with what he had to say, he said, "OK BYE!" He forgot he wasn't on the phone with him!! LOL...I almost peed my pants!
When I finally stopped laughing I said, "WOW...talk about ADD!"
He said that's nothing, when I ran into the store today, I got in line, put my stuff down & noticed they had juice boxes on sale. Just then the cashier says, "Hi, how are you?" I said, "Hold on!" Then grabbed the juice & came back. She was looking at me a little weird & I realized I told her to "hold on" like I was on the phone with her.
WOW!!hahahha
Time to take away his new IPhone!

Job Interview
We've been sending out Resume's to EVERYONE. You can definitely see how the economy is affecting the available job market. I thought that the lower paying jobs (for kids) would be a little easier to get. Josh has been trying to find a job now for what seems like forever. He finally received a call and has an interview tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. Keep your fingers crossed...he really needs this job! It's right across the street from my house too, which would make it really convenient.
Josh's dad asked him to move out last week. Josh moved in with him when he turned 18. He spent years hurting because his dad never wanted to have a relationship with him. Now his dad and new wife are having a baby and told Josh he needs to find somewhere else to live. He's really upset and angry with him. I think he feels like he is just throwing him away because he has a new family. His dad was a party buddy and not really a parent.
I'm hoping he moves back here...I'm one of those mom's who loves having her kids at home. Most parents say, "I can't wait till they move out!" But I cried for weeks when Josh left. I guess when you have kids they'll always be your babies, even when they grow up.
I need to learn not to be an enabler though...I tend to help Josh a lot because of his ADD. He has definitely gotten better over the years, but I still find myself doing too much for him to try and make things easier. I've learned that I need to step back and let him fail sometimes so he can grow and learn from his mistakes. Even after 20 years of being a mother, I'm still constantly learning and growing. By the time Elijah's 18 I hope I have this whole parenting thing mastered. No wonder grandparents are so awesome with the kids...they've had years to perfect themselves!

Natural ADHD/ADD Cure
I was told I should put my son on ADHD/ADD medication, but after doing intense research and reading the statistics of the number of children who turn to drugs as adults after being on ADHD/ADD medication, I opted for a different method. My son who is now 18 years old was diagnosed with ADD and a learning disability (which is very common with ADHD/ADD), at the age of 12. I started him on Omega 3 supplements. I chose a highly concentrated DHA/EPA supplement. DHA is the building block of the brain and retina. About 2/3 of the the brain's mass is made up of fats. Supplements are actually "FEEDING" the brain, this is one of the most important facts as to why Omega 3 supplements help improve ADHD/ADD and depression. I also chose a supplement that contained a natural triglyceride (which helps maintain the potency in your system during the digestive process).
After six months of taking the fish oil, three times a day, I saw amazing results! My son not only had better concentration, but his mood swings were less severe, and frequent. His memory also greatly improved. After one year of being on the supplements, my son tested out of the Special Education/IEP Program for speech and language therapy. His reading and comprehension test results jumped from a 3rd grade level to an 8th grade level. The team of teachers could not believe the results and wanted to know what I had done differently. When I told them that the only difference was the supplements, they said that they wish I could tell other parents.
In closing, don't just take my word for it, please do your own research as to the benefits of Omega 3 supplements. There are several studies done by major University's such as Harvard and Pittsburgh to back up my statements. As a mother, who has walked in your shoes, I feel your pain and hope my experience will lead you on a path that will be beneficial not only to your children, but your entire family.
