CLOSET DORK!

I finally made it back into the gym this week. It's probably been 5 months or longer, but I'm at a point where I'm pretty much disgusted with myself (which is usually what it takes.)

Welcome to my life:

I walked into the gym, stood in front of an empty counter waiting to check in. A guy behind me walked up next to me and put his finger on a small scanner. I looked over to see what he was doing & started to read a sign right next to his hand, giving directions on the procedures. As I was reading, he was entering a pin number into a machine. He looked at me and said, "Are you trying to get my phone number? (guess that was his pin #.)

Realizing that it looked like I was staring at him and not reading the sign next to him, I looked up, face instantly red and muttered, "Uhhh, ummm, OH NO! I haven't been here in a long time and was trying to figure out what I was supposed to do!"

He laughed at me and headed up the stairs.

I stood waiting, feeling pretty dumb, until finally someone came up to help me.

Nothing like announcing to the entire gym, "I'm a big, lazy oaf who hasn't been here since the dark ages when you actually checked in with a person!" Not to mention, appearing to scope out someone's pin number and getting called out for it!

I wonder why things like this always happen to me?

I try to appear calm, cool and collected, you know, like I have it all together...then I get found out.

Yes, my name is Lisa and I'm a closet dork! I do stupid things alot.

This was one of my more mild incidents, but thought I'd give you a little walk through my daily bumbles. I spent the rest of my time at the gym trying to avoid the guy with the phone number, who seemed to be looking over at me and laughing throughout my workout!

I yigh yigh! Let's hope today's workout doesn't present more episodes...welcome to my world!

Facebook-I Found Her

Can you tell they are from Utah? I was freezing & they're in bathing suits & sundresses!

I sometimes think of Facebook as my own detective service. I have found so many long lost, but not forgotten friends on there.

I lived in Utah in the 90's for 2 years and worked at a bank with an awesome lady! She was my manager & we just hit it off right away. We became fast friends and when I moved back to California, we vowed to stay in touch. But as the years, my divorce, moves & re-marriage happened, we lost touch.

A few weeks ago I decided to look her up on Facebook. There she was...looking exactly the same! It was too easy!

We "talked" exchanged numbers & she called me this weekend while visiting CA with her daughter & granddaughter who was performing at Disneyland.

We met for dinner on Friday, talked about the old days, laughed & hung out. It was like no time had passed at all since our last conversation, 15 years ago! It's weird how certain friendships can just pick up right where they left off. This was definitely one of them.

Saturday, my husband & I rode our bikes down to the beach and met up with them again before they had to head back to UT.

Vicki & her family are AWESOME people! So glad we were able to meet up. Thanks Facebook!

Zumba-Where's the Gym Etiquette

I finally made it back to my Zumba class this a.m, at 24 hr. Fitness. I've been really lazy lately and haven't been in a couple of months...I yigh yigh! I was getting in shape so quickly when I was going regularly.

If you haven't heard of Zumba, it's like going out dancing with your friends...NOT working out. But the results you get are fast & amazing!

Try to find a Zumba class in your area...you can thank me later for the tip!

On another note...some people

After my class I went to go do some weights. I had to laugh because everyone was on the treadmill, bikes & stairmaster watching t.v. There was probably about 10 people tuning into this one show that was on.

All of a sudden this girl walks up to a stair master, sets her stuff down. Climbs up on a weight bench & changes the channel to something she wanted to watch.

I couldn't believe it. I was sitting behind everyone, not watching t.v. but I found it incredible that someone has the nerve to do that!

I was waiting to see if anyone said anything, but no one did. Everyone just kind of looked around at each other not knowing where to look because they obviously weren't interested in womens golf.

The girl climb on her stairmaster...happy as could be to be watching her golf program & workout.

WOW.......

Definitely NOT good gym etiquette!
