Mother's Day...What a Day!

It's always nice to have a day just for you. A day when the people who are your heart come together and make you feel special. Yesterday, my Mother's Day was more than I could've hoped for. I was touched, moved to tears, heart bursting...love. My kids, sister, & hubby spent the whole day with me. There was lunch, shopping at the local street fair, presents (lots and lots of presents), and dinner...where my youngest son was working and he served us.
Time. What a precious gift. It's those moments that make it all worthwhile; fleeting, stand still, breathe in and hold it tightly. Right here and now. Words of love, affirmation and just knowing that this moment is perfect because it is filled with laughter, hugs, memories, and family. God's amazing gift...MOTHERHOOD.

Just when I thought this day couldn't be any more special...my new son, my foster son, lil' J, wrote a special note on Instagram for me. It touched my heart to know that even though this child has been through so much with the recent loss of his mother to breast cancer, he's still able to open his heart. Share his heart. What a gift. To give your trust and love to someone who was a complete stranger 5 months ago.

God is good. He is amazing. He asks us to step up. To be the hands and feet of Christ. He will put things on your heart and ask you to say yes to where He's leading. The hardest part is, "Yes, Lord...Your will not mine." The easiest part is once you finally relinquish to His will...He works miracles. Miracles that you never imagined. A life transformed through Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, God blessed me with yet another confirmation of His life giving, restoring love. It read, "Happy Mother's Day to my new fun loving sweet mom Lisa. I love you and you do a lot for me and your the best mother in the world to me!!!!! Happy Mother's Day. #funmom #imhappyyourinmylife #yourawesome #yourfunny #iloveyourpranks #bestmother" And this was the picture he posted with it.
Never doubt that Jesus makes ALL things new! I hope you all had an AMAZING Day!

Football and a Shower

I was pretty busy this past weekend, which started off AWESOME. My son had his JV football game on Friday & scored three touchdowns (well, technically 2 because 1 got called back, a blocker did an illegal block long after my son had passed him-it was a 60 yd. run too!) It was so cool seeing him out run all the players & score...yes I'm a proud mama!

Saturday was my friend Christie's baby shower. I did the dirty diaper game. For those of you who haven't heard of it, I bought 10 different chocolate candy bars & then melted each one in a newborn diaper. I then numbered each diaper & the girls had to pass the diapers around & try to figure out which candy bar was in each of them. The one who guessed the most right gets a prize.

This game cracks me up because all these ladies are smelling diapers...and yes I do have a sick sense of humor!LOL!

The girl who won was able to guess 5 out of 10 right.

Christie's husband made these cupcakes for the party!

now that's what I call a good husband...

My Late Brother Johns' Missing Gift

Every 4th of July for the past 19 yrs. has been a struggle for my family. This year however, we finally found a gift that my brother, John Michael Lemich, who passed away on the 5th of July, (READ ABOUT THE ACCIDENT HERE), left for us.

We knew about this gift, but have been unable to find it! We all have searched, at various times over the years, looking, hunting, getting frustrated & then giving up. Only to feel the tug at our hearts every few years & search again.

This year was again one of those years I began the search. I consider myself an amateur detective and after about three days and no luck once again, I reluctantly gave up. Then to my surprise, my sister April, who also was feeling the urge, started searching for the long lost gift too.

After 19 years, SHE FOUND THE PRESENT THAT MY BROTHER HAD LEFT FOR US!

The ironic thing is, the gift was found on the exact day of the 19th anniversary of my brothers accident.

To say that this lifted the mood of this difficult time of year for us is an understatement!

There are no words to describe our happiness

On this 19th Anniversary of my brothers death I would like to share his missing present with all of you too..............................................

THIS IS MY BROTHERS DAUGHTER-WHITLEY!
The search is finally over.

We feel that my brother somehow had a hand in helping us find his daughter!

We are so blessed to be able to have Whitley & Johnny in our lives.

MY BROTHERS SON JOHNNY (Luckily, he's been a part of our lives since he was born & also has been searching for his 1/2 sister).

My brother passed away before meeting either of his children, but is obviously watching down from above!

This 4th of July is a very special & joyous one for our family!

WE MISS & LOVE YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL GIFT TO US!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Bridal Shower Fun

Last weekend my step daughter, Natascha had her 3rd Bridal Shower. I wasn't able to make it to the last one because of my contact lense fiasco/ER visit. So I was happy to be able to make it this time.

The food was AMAZING...I took several pictures, well you know me, I'm always taking pictures, but I took more than normal. This Brunch was to die for & the lady who put it on made everything herself, even homemade granola!

Tasha had a huge turnout & got so many presents, I don't know how she is going to fit everything into their apartment!

It's exactly 1 month till her wedding...I can't believe it!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!

Mothers Day, Shingles & Presents

Unfortunately I couldn't be with my mom yesterday because she lives in Utah, but I had a great day. It started out with my cards & presents. My hubby got me a new phone-Envy3 (my old one was broken & randomly turned off throughout the day...annoying), I also got two massage certificates from the kids-Woo Hoo.

This definitely will come in handy since my new diagnosis of Shingles last week (ya, had no idea what it even was!) Leave it to me to get some random old person thing (it comes from the chicken pox virus & can flare up when your immune system is down or you are stressed, usually after the age of 60!). Weird cuz I didn't think I was stressed, but maybe my lack of sleep (4 hrs a night) is wearing me down.

More about that later.

Anyways, next we went to church in the morning & my oldest son Josh surprised me & met me there, (it made me cry!) Then we headed out to my mother in laws for lunch/dinner. My sister in laws surprised me with a gorgeous necklace and Jullien emailed me an AMAZING poem that he wrote for me. I'm so blessed to have such an incredible family!

Now to finish this post about the shingles thing. I had a severe headache last weekend for two days, followed by crazy itching on my upper chest. There was a deep red circle with little blisters. I had no clue what it was so I popped them thinking it would stop the itching. The next day (still itching like crazy) I went to work & showed my boss (also my good friend).
She said, "Ummm that looks like shingles, my ex husband had it."

I made a quick call to the Dr. & they got me right in. Sure enough...she was right. They gave me some ointment & medicine to help the symptoms stay mild.

Yesterday I woke up with another small itchy cluster on my shoulder! It also sends some sharp shooting pains down through the muscles (like I said it's a virus from chickenpox, that travels through your nerves.) I've been pretty lucky though, other than the itching, I've only had a little bit of pain.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the rashes stop (they can scar).

But even shingles couldn't ruin my day!
