Need Prayers For Baby Ariella

My cousin, has a 9 month old angel fighting for her life after a near drowning yesterday. She made it through the night and is in a coma & on a ventilator. Her name is Ariella and we are in need of your prayers. We are also going to have a family fast tomorrow (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) on her behalf. Anyone wishing to join would be greatly appreciated.

I've learned how powerful prayer is and we're having FAITH for a MIRACLE!

Strange

Today my boss took us out to lunch. We usually go to the same high end restaurant & he likes to sit at the bar. He know's everyone and even has a special item on the menu named after him. As we sat down, the regular bar tender (a girl in her late 20's/early 30's) who always serves us & is usually very nice, seemed to be a little 'off.' She was kind of spacey & said she was just tired. As we all sat there, we noticed that she was having a lot of difficulty performing normal tasks. She walked up to take our order but just stood there staring blankly at us. We had to ask for a menu. She was stumbling around & struggling to pour drinks without spilling.

Her boss came behind the bar, 'to say hi to us,' but really seemed to be searching for something. She found it...a tall glass with 2 straws, pushed back, hidden under the bar. She quickly dumped a little of it into a shot glass, without letting the bar tender know or missing a beat in our conversation. She took a quick sip, rolled her eyes, then quickly turned and left. Next thing we knew, our bar tender, with her back turned to us, began doing a praying movement, placing her hands together, while bending in ballet plies.
We quickly looked at each other, feeling very sorry for her, but we couldn't take our eyes off her, wondering what she'd do next. It was obvious by the blank stare, she was more than drunk...probably a mixture of prescription drugs along with the alcohol. Finally, her bosses came in & made her go home, (which in restaurant terms=she just lost her job.)

Well, that made for a very quiet & interesting lunch to say the least...we were speechless.
I still felt bad for her knowing that when she wakes up tomorrow and realizes the stupid thing she did, she'll have some big regrets.

My Sister's Coming!

I'm so excited...my lil' sister, April is coming down, along with her four little ones to stay with us for two weeks. The plan is for her to drive straight through from Utah to Huntington Beach. I definitely don't envy her, trying to handle all four of her kids + drive 11 hours (and they are a wild bunch!)

When I was a single mom of three, back in the day, I made an annual Utah trip every 4th of July to visit my family. I saved myself a bit of a headache by leaving at about 9:00 pm (kids bedtime.) Then I drove the 5 hours to Mesquite, NV to sleep (1/2 way point.) I saved myself only half a trip of listening to my boys, argue, fight, complain & making tons of bathroom stops.

Last time she came down we did a beach photo shoot (here's some shots.) I'm sure there'll be tons more this time. Wish I was off work to be able to spend more time with them. Oh well, no complaining right...enjoy whatever we can. Besides, there's nothing better than being with family for the 4th of July!

Photo's Before U2 Concert

We received free tickets from my sister-in-laws boyfriend (THANKS VAR!) to a Lenny Kravitz/U2 concert. I LOVE Lenny & was so excited to see him (I like U2 too-but Lenny is just soooo cool & hot!)

Now that I got that out of the way...we did a pre-concert/pre-date night photo shoot. I love capturing the moments before our special outings, when we're excited and anticipating all the fun we're about to have. So here's a few of our pics:
I love him-can you tell?

Always making the goofy faces...

my turn...
He's always cracking me up so I guess this is what I'm doing most of the time (watching him to see what he'll do next!)

I found this top at my fav local vintage store (Dee Lux) for $10.00. It was a little shorter than I like so I just added a black tank under it. Glasses: (Gucci) which I took to my eye doctor & had them made into prescription sunglasses for $100.00 (best $$ I've ever spent!)  I recommend this to anyone who needs prescription sunglasses-take in a favorite pair & have them converted. Jeans: J&Company
(Laurel style) bought 5 years ago at an outlet sale for $30.00. Check out their site-these jeans are so comfortable!

Girls Surf Too!

Girls have become amazing surfers over the years. I love taking pictures off the pier-especially during the U.S. Open Competition. Let summer begin-beach style! This years competition will begin July 30th through August 7th.

QUICK-IT'S REWIND TIME!

That's me in the middle

I was going through some pictures and came across some of my old modeling photo's. I'd always wanted to model, but by the time I was 21, I had a baby, was married & separated off & on for years. Finally after my second son was born, I moved to Utah for a few years to get away & live close to my parents.

I got a job at a bank, full time & was approached by a local modeling agency. I signed with them (needed extra money) but wasn't able to travel because of my young boys. So I just did local jobs.

Shortly after that, while at a dance club with a friend, I was asked to try out for the local popular radio station, KBER 101's, Sugarbear contest. I wasn't really interested until they told me that I would be payed for appearances, concerts, Jazz Basketball games, etc. Now who could pass up an easy job like that? So I auditioned & made it! It was pretty cool getting paid to attend concerts & be on stage with Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, & several other bands, along with the half-time show's for the Utah Jazz. We also made tons of appearances & signed autograph's.

That was a pretty busy time in my life with 3 jobs. But I made it work and was able to support my boys. My life in the 90's:

Stepping Back In Time

April-my friend since the 6th grade! She's crazy, friendly, outgoing & doesn't know a stranger.

It is the strangest thing when you get together with old high school friends. All the old memories flood in, taking you right back to 'the good ol days.'

My friend April was coming in from Vegas & hit everyone up on Facebook to get together. I wasn't too excited about driving all the way out to Glendora (45 min. each way) on a Tuesday work night. But after she let me have it a little bit (helping me realize I was being selfish!LOL) I decided to get off my lazy butt and go. What are friends for right?

I'm glad I did...we had so much fun! People also showed up who I was never very close to in high school. But now, 20 some odd years later (not telling how many!hahaha)...we had tons to talk about. It's funny how time changes things.

yes, i'm a hugger...hugs for everyone!hahah

tried to round up everyone for a group shot-not very successful!
