I Got Sucked In

I set my DVR to record a new show that I wasn't really sure if I'd like it. I headed up to bed around 11:00 p.m. & hit play. As I started watching I found myself quickly fast forwarding through the commercials to see what was going to happen next.

Who was into who? What was the crazy girl going to do? Who's heart is going to get broken? Who was that annoying Hugh Jackman, look-alike guy going take on a date?

Craig McKinnon

Hugh Jackman- (see they look alike huh?)

I have to admit, "They got me!"

"THE BACHELOR PAD" was actually really good!

They took all of the memorable rejects from the past years of "The Bachelor" & "The Bachelorette" and put them all together in one room, they compete in different challenges, go on dates & the girls & guys vote each other off, all while vying for a chance to win $250,000.00.

What is it about D R A M A that we just can't stop watching?

So, now I'm "jonesing" for next weeks episode. Did any of you see it?

Last Minute Christmas

All the Grandkids on my Husbands side.

My Family-They're so grown up!

Me & Jullien (I'm standing on my toes to look taller)

My Hubby & His Sisters

Sister In Law Brigett & her kids

Sister in Law Erika & her kids
Stepdaughter Tashy & Niece Adrianna

Me & my Sister In Laws-I'm liking the Black & White
Anthony's Parents & ALL of us (except Josh-left for work)
Adrianna & my Sister in Law Vivian

Why does it always feel like the older you get the faster the time goes by? Christmas is almost here and I haven't even started shopping! We just barely took Christmas pictures, and got our tree last week, which is still not decorated.

Anthony's family came over to have me take Christmas pictures of everyone. We had it all planned to go down to our normal spot in Corona Del Mar, but Josh had to work and so everyone came over and we just took them at our house. Not the picture perfect area, but we made it work. Luckily my husband has our tropical back yard looking good.

It was quite a fiasco! We were pressed for time because the boys had a basketball game, someone left the door open and our husky got out, ran across a busy street, almost got hit twice. We were all chasing her down yelling and freaking out. We finally got her across the street in a shopping center and some guy started yelling at me to keep her on a leash! I've been working on my mouth so I actually kept my cool and didn't let him have it! PROGRESS...yay!

Every year I make the whole family go together to get the Christmas tree. This is always a big deal for me, I love traditions. They however don't look forward to it. I can't get just any tree, it has to be the perfect tree, a Noble at least 7-8 ft tall and perfectly shaped. This isn't easy to find and can take a few hours! LOL! The kids start getting frustrated with me after the first 30 minutes. Anthony usually has had enough after 15 min. Then it's total drama the whole time...and it happens like this every year...awwwwe traditions!

This year Anthony's kids couldn't make it...which I'm sure didn't upset them too much, but I missed them. I was happy that all three of my boys were able to go. My oldest son Josh even brought his girlfriend. It was different this year, the lot didn't have anything over 6ft., we found the perfect tree after Anthony & the boys lifted and turned them so I could carefully examine them. It only took three trees & 20 minutes...a new record! I wish it was taller though...I know, I know...I'm a freak!

As for shopping...which I can't stand doing under normal circumstance let alone in the holiday rush, I will be out Christmas Eve, this too seems to be a tradition for me. Not one I plan...just me procrastinating!

I GOT DISSED?

We had our dinner night last night. It went better than I expected, however I did get a little bit of a cold shoulder from someone who I have been friends with for about 9 years. She just wasn't herself with me. I guess I could feel it so I just didn't make an effort either. That's what I tend to do...just ignore, stand behind the safety of my carefully built wall. It has served to protect me from years of hurt. It's definitely served its purpose, however lately I've been praying for help to tear it down. I've really wanted to open myself up to people other than those whom I feel safe with.

I felt like I was having a break through and really stepping outside of my comfort zone, until all of this. Of course I run right back behind it and shut down. I put on my tough girl image, the one that says, "I don't care if you don't like me! You don't matter to me anymore either." I've closed the door on several friendships after incidents like this.

At the Freshman game today, which we WON (34-6), she did it again. I tried to say Hi twice. She just looked at me and didn't say anything. I thought, "Ok...I'm done trying. If you're going to be like that I can easily be done too (my wall growing thicker with each incident).

Then just as the games ending, she asks me a question, like nothing's wrong. Now I'm thinking what is up? Did she just not see me the two times I walked right in front of her and waved? Am I reading into it because I'm expecting this. I don't know...it's just too much! I don't want to deal with this high school drama at my age!

Just when I'm really ready to tear down my walls...something scares me and back I go to my safe distant place!

Stop The Drama

Lately I feel like I've been getting caught in a lot of drama. I'm not one of those people that enjoy sitting around gossiping & complaining about people. I think that's why I've always found it easier to just hang out with the guys, talk about sports and crack jokes.

Lately however, I've gotten thrown into the middle of a lot of crap. I try not to get upset and sucked into it...but it's hard. I even started breaking out! That's when I said, "Zit's is where I draw the line!"

So yesterday I decided to stop adding fuel to the fire by joining in. I made a decision to take the high road. I sent out an email to everyone explaining a few things that I knew they probably didn't want to hear. But the bottom line is, everyone can sit around complaining, talking about each other and getting mad, but at the end of the day nothing's changed except making a lot of people bitter and angry towards each other.

My email was very nice but made a point. I received a couple positive feedbacks thanking me for putting it out there in a nice way. Tonight we have a team dinner...we'll see if anythings changed. I definitely will stick to my plan. I might get excluded because of it, but I will feel less stressed and better about myself for not joining in not to mention...maybe my face will clear up before the weekend! Gosh...being a girl sucks sometimes...we are all SO DRAMA!!

And The Results Are In....

I went to the doctor's yesterday to see if my little accident produced a broken foot. I was so nervous that he was going to start squeezing and pulling on the area when he checked it. But I made sure he didn't...the second he barely touched the swollen bruised area, I scared the hell out of him, I yelled, "Ouch...be careful!" So he left it alone and sent me over for X-Ray's.

To my surprise and delight...IT'S NOT BROKEN! He said that if it continues to hurt after a couple of weeks, I would need to get re-X-Rayed to see if they missed anything. But I think I'm okay, the swelling is way down and I'm able to put some weight on it.

OK, I know what some of you are thinking, "What a big baby...it's not even broken!" Well, read the previous post again and remember, "I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE A BABY AFTER ALL MY YEARS OF DRAMA!"LOL!
