Thanksgiving Eat-A-Thon

It's that time of year again, the holidays are just around the corner and I'm preparing for the big Thanksgiving Eat-A-Thon. I'm not the best cook, so every year we go to my sister-in-laws AND my sisters house for Thanksgiving. First stop is at 1:00 p.m. We try and eat light...YA RIGHT! By the time we get to my sisters at 5:00 p.m. we are so full but just keep eating.

I've been gearing up for the Eat-A-Thon. I came up with a plan to help me feel better about the inevitable. I've been walking every night and doing my floor excercises. I feel like I'm getting ready for a marathon!LOL! But I do have a strategy this year. I'm excercising BEFORE the big event. Losing the 5-7 lbs before the BIG day...then I'll have some room to grow and not feel as guilty.
Those of you who have to visit lots of homes too...feel free to steal my idea.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EAT-A-THON!

I Survived

I made it through graduation...barely! It was so hectic trying to get everything ready. My sister cooked all the food and came over and set it all up for me while we were at the graduation...couldn't have done it without her. The graduation ran over and they changed my son's grad night time from 9 pm to 8 pm which gave him exactly 15 minutes to come in, say hi to everyone and then leave. Come to find out, they told the kids that they had to get there at that time but the bus didn't actually leave until 9:30p.m.!!! I was SO MAD...we had family that came from out of state to see him and only got to visit for 15 min.!

Another little dilemma came when we had the carpet cleaned on Monday and it didn't dry by graduation day, everyone was slipping on the hardwood floor. My dad walked on the carpet and then onto the hardwood floors to walk down the stairs, both feet slipped out from under him and he fell and hit his back and tailbone. He has the largest, blackest bruise I have ever seen. It is covering almost his entire back! He couldn't go golfing on Friday with everyone because it was so sore. I felt SO BAD!

It was a great turnout though, and all in all, everything went smooth. It is so nice having all the family together. I hate that everyone lives so far away.

One more graduation on Thursday for my youngest son, 8th grade graduation...much easier than HS Graduation.

One last thing, I got a surprise yesterday, me and Jullien took some shots of him practicing different posing angles. I sent them to his agent to see if he liked any certain poses/angles and he ended up posting them on his blog. I felt like a real photographer! Check them out RedNYC.Blogspot.

Adam's 15th Birthday

Today, 15 years ago, my stepson Adam Bernard Petrarca was born. He came into my life when he was three years old. He was the friendliest little guy out on the football field. His dad coached, his sister was a cheerleader and his brother played flag football. This left a cute, precocious little boy the complete freedom to rome the sidelines.

Never shy, he loved to go around and ask all of the parents for food. He would sit right down on your lap, beam up at you and ask, "Whatcha eating? Can I have some?" No one could resist and so he was always very full by the time his dad finished with practice.

He was always a little monkey...he could climb ANYTHING. If he couldn't be found, we would start running around looking in the trees, on the top of the baseball back stops or anything that was climable. He had no fear and suffered several concussions due to this.

He loves to make people laugh, especially his younger step brother. They were more like twins, becoming brothers when they were 3 and 4. He could entertain everyone for hours with his many faces, noises and crazy antics. He is the life of the party and loves to be the center of attention. You never know what he will do next. Which always brings a constant sense of anticipation whenever he is around.

Adam is our own little comedian and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful and amazing son. Happy Birthday Adam...WE LOVE YOU!
