"BACKSTAGE SHENANIGANS" -TYSON BECKFORD, JULLIEN HERRERA, CHRIS MOORE & BRODERICK HUNTER

On June 10, 2014, AMFAR (a foundation dedicated to ending the Global AIDS epidemic) put on a fundraising event "Inspiration Gala" in New York at the Plaza Hotel. Josh Duhamel hosted, (his wife, singer Fergie, also attended) and Sarah Jessica Parker was a Presenter. This is always a star studded event and raises tons of money. The 80's band, New Order (from my high school days...aka "Old School") entertained the crowd.  The event also had a fashion show. My son, Jullien Herrera, (Re:Quest Model Management) walked for designer Thom Browne. Since most of us (me included) aren't able to attend these swanky gala's...I thought I'd share some pics from the night with you.

Homecoming Fashion 2011

Over the years fashion & dance rules sure have changed. Most of the kids would rather go with a group of friends rather than have dates. They want to "keep their options open." My hubby never wants to let Elijah go unless he has a date...so I have to tell him, "Times have changed since the 80's!"

So let me share a little Homecoming 2011 Fashion Show with y'all. The boys tend to dress down & have fun with their looks, while the girls follow the latest fashion trends. Luckily the internet has afforded us with an availability to view fashion from all over the world. This definitely helps the girls in their dress/shoe choices, since in our laid back beach community dressing up usually consists of putting on a pair of closed toe shoes instead of flip flops.

 A BIG thanks to my step-mom Rolene who took these photo's for me while I was in the hospital. It's always a fun event for the parents too. We hang out, eat, drink, visit & take pictures at the pre-dance party. It's quite an evening for everyone!

Another Modeling Offer Comes In

Today RED Model Management called Jullien and said they were supposed to have a meeting about him on Monday, but they were all out to dinner with the owner and he was the topic of discussion over their meal.

He said not only do they all have to agree, but they also show his pictures to top photographers and clients to get their feedback. If they don't like him then there is no point in pursuing a model.

He said that everyone liked his look and they want to offer an EXCLUSIVE contract with their agency. They would begin building his portfolio as soon as we sign with them (NO OUT OF POCKET MONEY FOR US - TOP AGENCIES NEVER CHARGE). We need to let them know by Monday...so we spoke for about an hour (Jullien's only 17) so of course I had to talk to him about everything.

If we go with them he would be jet setting off to Milan, Italy right after his graduation for their summer fashion shows...(scary but exciting). So we will spend the rest of today and tomorrow making a HUGE decision.
