Plan B
If you read my previous post you know we had tickets for the premier of "Sing Off." We were going to head out to LA right after work...everything was all set UNTIL my husbands old injury flared up.
He was ran over by a car when he was 21 yrs. old. His arm was torn almost completely off. He had to have skin graphs & reconstructive surgery to fix it. The dr.'s told him he would probably never have full use of it again. Well being a young kid, he didn't accept that and decided to do his own style of after hours rehabilitation. He would get drunk and then swing his arm around & move it as much as possible, definitely not the standard method, but it worked & he regained full use.
Fast forward, 24 years later...the cold weather we've been having has made his arm pain unbearable. He went to the chiropractor to try and get some relief before we went to the show. It took way longer than expected. I told him to get ready fast & we'd still try to make it. By the time we left we had only a half hour till the doors opened & it would take us at least 1 1/2 hrs to get there in traffic.
Now we were all dressed up and nowhere to go (sigh).
We decided to go to the $3.00 movie theater by our house and saw the true story "Secretariat." It ended up being a great night...I LOVED THAT MOVIE! My hubby was pleasantly surprised and wants to get it for his dad. You don't have to be a fan of horse racing to enjoy this movie, it's uplifting and encouraging, things we all need at one time or another. Be sure to rent it when it comes out...you wont be disappointed.
Just goes to show you that Plan B can be just as good.

some of the best times aren't planned :)
I hope he gets better! And btw, that sounds like a great movie! I'd catch it sometime! x
Sorry about your husband's arm...but glad you are good with plan b's! I need to see that movie!
I agree with your concluding sentence on plsn B.
As for your husband's arm - accupuncture might be very helpful in his case.
Hi Lis...
Sometimes the Plan B turns out just as good or even BETTER than the first plan!
WOW, though! I had no idea about your husband's old injury and I really admire him for pushing through all of that and not accepting what the doctor said! I don't really believe doctors because they are human like all of us and prone to not knowing/being wrong! We control our own healing! I'm very happy for him- BUT, I DO know that cold weather makes old injuries flare up so I can totally emphasize!
Glad you both still had fun and tell him I hope he gets through the cold weather-- I have old injuries and permanent pain/disability so I can totally relate!
I push thought things, too! : ) Cheers.
