Hermit

This is where I should've been...

I don't know what it is, but this past weekend I felt like a total hermit. I didn't want to leave the house at all. We got invited to a music/art show down in Santa Monica on Saturday night, but I was too lazy. I popped in movie after movie and just wrapped myself up in a blanket and layed around. So unlike me!

Even today, I'm off work and I was going to drop the kids off at school, attempt to go straight to the gym, (my back is still ridiculously sore-no idea why. Had an ultrasound to check my gall bladder, liver, kidney's and stomach-which came back okay. YAY! But what is this pain? X-Ray's next I guess. ) The gym didn't happen.

I was also going to head out to lay by the pool or ride my bike to the beach and write a little bit (it's a gorgeous day here today) but went upstairs to finish some reading, fell asleep and woke up at 12:00 p.m.! What's up with me? Well maybe my body just needs to rest?

So I feel like I've wasted my weekend and today by being non-productive. Hmmm...need to search for my lost motivation this week.

Weekend Wipeout

This has been a crazy, busy week. Let's see, first off Elijah got nominated for Freshman Homecoming Prince. They nominated five boys and five girls...they find out sometime next week who wins. We had two football games back to back yesterday. Elijah had an awesome game and had a key interception at the end of the game. He played both ways (linebacker & tight end). Even though we were winning...they were driving and we were struggling to stop them. The interception kind of took the wind out of their sails. We ended up winning the Freshman and Varsity game against Dana Hills High School.

We had Adam's J.V. game today...he played really good and is getting a lot of playing time at wide receiver and on special teams...they won also. We had a parent/son night last week for the J.V. & Varsity players. They had us walk on the field, the dad's wore their sons away jersey's, which was pretty funny to see some dad's trying to squeeze into it and then suck in their guts trying to look buff and slim. They announced the parents names and then took pictures and the boys handed the mom's a flower.

Tonight we have a birthday party to go to for my bosses 60th birthday. I was going to dye my roots tonight, but I forgot that I threw away my last container and brush. So it looks like I'm going to the party looking ghetto. I also have to go out and find something to wear. I have a closet full of clothes that I hate. I need to stop being such a pack rat and just get rid of them. I don't know why I find it so hard...I always start to go through the stuff and then say, "Oh, I can't get rid of this, I'm sure I will be able to wear it again somewhere." It's a definite problem!

I'm wiped out and my weekends just beginning.

Girls Weekend

Living in a house with all boys has definitely made me appreciate any girl time that I can get. My friend Marcia had a little get together this weekend. She had a lady bring in tons of name brand jeans, dresses and purses for really cheap. Unfortunately with my current financial situation, "really cheap" is still not cheap enough for me right now. I still had tons of fun. I forget how much we all need a little girl time. Just hanging out, laughing at stupid things, talking, eating, helping them pick out cute outfits...girl stuff. I need to remember to make time for my friends..."my girls".

Friday-I Survived

After Thursday's incident I wasn't looking forward to Friday. I think that has to be a first, who doesn't look forward to Friday? I pulled into the parking lot and didn't see my boss's car. He must've had a meeting this morning, I thought with a quick sigh of relief. I hurried up the stairs (I'm always running late...it's a HUGE problem for me.) I took a deep breath, opened the door and silence. I asked Marsha, "Where is everybody?" Oh, one of them is headed up to Mammoth and the other one is sick today. Whew...now I only have to deal with the phone calls (much easier than getting ridiculed in person.)

I asked her if he said anything more about the whole box thing, and she said, "He said that he had looked in that office the day before too and never saw the box, either." Hmmm, at least he admitted to something.

He called in and was being really nice.
Boss: Hey, what are you doing?
Me: Oh you know...me and Marsha are just sitting here getting ready to smoke a big fatty and then try to find some more boxes." I couldn't resist...I had to say something because it had bugged me so much that he made me seem like a moron on drugs.

Boss: Excuse me?
Me: Yep...just getting ready to smoke out.

Boss: (Laughing)...Ooohhh okay you girls have fun and whatever you have to do to feel better is fine with me.
Me: (smiling) Okay...let me get Marsha for you.

I usually try to joke about situations when something is tense and uncomfortable. It just seems like making light of everything always makes the situation seem less stressful. It is something I only do in work situations though, at home, everybody just GETS IT from my mouth! But, since I don't want to get fired...I always hold back at work.

Now I'm looking forward to a relaxing, sleep filled (keep your fingers crossed) weekend.

Busy Weekend Ahead

I had to re-post the following pictures that I took to help keep me calm and get me through my VERY busy weekend...

Get off work, pick up kids, drop off, go back pick up more kids, unload chairs, camera, jackets, blankets...whew, now I get to exercise for 1 hr. This is my life since football started, CRAZY! We leave the house at 8:00 a.m. and don't get home till 8:30 p.m. I am WIPED OUT...today I laid down (my husband was taking the kids to practice for me) right after work, and decided to go to practice later. Well, I fell asleep at around 4:00 pm and didn't wake up until 7:45 pm! I missed practice, the dinner night and taking pictures for the team (I volunteered to be the team photographer...more baby steps, and I write the articles about the games to be published in the local newspaper). I feel a little guilty, but I feel really rested!

Friday, Elijah has Pop Warner practice from 5:30 - 8:00, Jullien who plays on the High School Varsity team, has a scrimmage game at 7:00 pm, and I have to find time to make dinner, (we are getting sick of fast food.) Saturday, Jullien has practice from 9-1, then a Luau for a boy (Luke) on his team who was just diagnosed with a rare blood disease and will be going through chemo and getting a bone marrow transplant beginning Tuesday.

The team will be leaving on Monday to play their first game in Hawaii (Maui) and Luke will not be able to go so they are doing a surprise Luau in his honor. It was really sad because he was COMPLETELY healthy and just got a bloody nose that wouldn't stop bleeding. I can't believe how lives can be changed in an instant. It makes you really put things into perspective. The family and Luke have amazing faith and Luke said he hopes to be an inspiration to the team this year. So I will go over at 12 pm to help set up, then Elijah has a scrimmage game at 4:00 pm. After the game we are going to the Harvest Festival at Anaheim Stadium (a Christian event), with bands and Pastor Greg Laurie will be speaking (he just lost his son last month in a car accident).

So I have a PACKED weekend...lucky I took that nap (I'm already over the guilt) LOL !
