American Idol-Who Wins-Who Goes-5/19/09

Here is how my scorecard read for tonight's American Idol final sing off.

Round 1: TIE:

(both songs were amazing and they each performed exceptionally well)

Round 2: ADAM LAMBERT:

(Adam showcased his "instrument" which is the only appropriate way to describe the sound coming out of his mouth! Kris also sounded good but very average and "bubble gummy")

Round 3: KRIS ALLEN:

(Between the two, Kris's take on the song was more believable and catchy. Adam seemed uncomfortable and unsure...probably because the song was BAD).

Yes, I know...this puts us back at square one. Now, if you ask me who I think should win...hands down ADAM.

Now, ask me who probably will win...KRIS! I think Kris will pull off the upset. Everyone is expecting Adam to take it, but I think Kris will get his usual loyal fans and also pick up some Danny Gokey fans.

So there you have it American Idol Fans...stay tuned tomorrow!

American Idol-Who Went Home 5/13/09

I was very surprised at the final result. Kris Allen is good but I honestly think Danny Gokey has a better voice (yes anonymous I did listen to only the songs and not the judges). Kris was off key a few times on both of his songs...but I really liked his second song even with the bum notes.

Danny however brought me to tears with his second song! I'm sad to see Danny go home, but several other past Idols have had amazing careers without winning. I can't wait to see what he does in the future.

Adam Lambert will be hard to beat next week...but Kris seems to be pulling off a lot of upsets this season. I will be interesting to say the least!

American Idol-Who Goes Home 5-13-09

Let me start by saying that I am not one of those ladies who cries easily. However, tonight after listening to Danny Gokey sing, "You Are So Beautiful," by Joe Cocker. It was very weird but I started tearing up. I just kept picturing him singing to his wife who passed away. His voice was amazing, so full of emotion and passion.

Kris Allen did great on his second song, "Heartless," by Kayne West. It was a completely original version of the song. I enjoyed it and agreed with the judges that it put him back in the competition. His first song however was very karaoke (yikes...I sound like the judges!)

Adam Lambert sang, "One" by U2. We all know Adam can sing...but I didn't like this version very much...he seemed to be screaming too much and at one point even stuck out his tongue. I wish he had kept it slow throughout the song. I did enjoy his second song, "Crying," by Aerosmith. I'm sure Steven Tyler would have been proud of Adam's performance...maybe they'll do a duet!

So who goes home? This is a very tough decision for me tonight because they all had great second performances...but I think Kris Allen should go home. I know Kris has a huge fan base, but if it is a SINGING competition, Danny and Adam have stronger voices.

Let me know how you feel?

Can you believe Adam Lambert went home tonight........JUST KIDDING! Now that I have your attention, I have to admit that my prediction last night was completely off...I hate being wrong!

Kris Allen stayed and Allison Iraheta went home. Allison doesn't have the best personality, but her voice is definitely better than Kris', so I have to say I was very surprised. After all, this is a SINGING competition. They could have worked on her public speaking, personality and style. They always coach, mold and shape the winners and turn them into Hollywood stars.

Next week the final three visit their home towns and unless Kris pulls out a major miracle performance, he should go. I'm pretty sure that Danny Gokey will not try to sing anymore high notes after this weeks disaster...so he should do well. Nothing needs to be said about Adam Lambert...he'll be safe.

I don't want to be wrong two weeks in a row...I had such a great streak going. See you all next week!

WHAT? How did they show the sneak preview of the final two with four people still left?

Tonights performance was a rock theme, with Slash formerly of Guns N Roses, presently from Velvet Revolver. He took the contestants to a famous club, "The Roxy" on the Sunset Strip to practice, helping them to get a feel of the whole "real rock" scene.

I don't know if he gave a lot of advice to everyone, because I think he should have told Danny Gokey to change his song...the high notes were difficult to listen to. I hate saying that because I'm a Gokey fan, but I yigh yigh, it was BAD! He will not go home though.

I thought Allison Iraheta's song was good. The judges didn't like it, but I have to disagree. People might not like the fact that she was disagreeing and even corrected Simon regarding the choices she had for a song. She will probably be in the bottom two, but will not go home.

So that leaves Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. Adam was absolutely unbelievable with his version of Led Zeppelin's song, "Whole Lotta Love (click to see original version)." It was PERFECT, he didn't seem to be screaming as much either (Slash actually gave him good advice to stay in his lower register).

Kris Allen seemed to be awkward and uncomfortable performing his rock song. He also was weak in his duet performance with Danny. Kris Allen will be going home tonight.

As far as your sneak preview of the final two...ADAM & ALLISON! They sang as though they've been on stage together forever. It will be a great final!

What do you think?

WHAT? Adam Lambert almost eliminated? This was a shocker...Adam has never been in the bottom two. If I wanted to really analyze it, I would have to say that everyone just assumed Adam would get the votes and used their call to save someone else.

Now, back to my previous post, I did get half of the bottom two correct. Matt Giraud and Adam stood side by side awaiting their fate. Waiting, waiting, waiting, through Natalie Cole, Taylor Hicks and Jaime Foxx's performances. Put yourself in their place, could you imagine having to sit there through an entire show trying to smile and act happy? Unable to enjoy the celebrity performances, what a terrible place to be in! While the other "saved" contestant sit in their victory chairs, laughing, clapping, and singing along. I think I would want to run over and knock them off their little stools...OOPS...sorry, I got caught up in the whole thing for a moment, I wouldn't really do that!

Finally they announced that Matt Giraud would be going home (which was my final prediction). Tune in next week...I'm getting pretty good at this!

I have to say that I love that "Rat Pack" era of music. The big band playing behind the crooners...very cool and sexy! Tonight American Idol brought in a surprise celebrity to help the singers, Jaime Foxx! He seemed to give good advice because all of the contestants sounded GREAT!

But since someone has to go, I'll give you my weekly pick. Now this is a hard one for me tonight, but let's start with my favorite...drum roll...wait for it....Danny Gokey! I thought he was absolutely AMAZING! Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta used their powerhouse voices to bring the crowd to their feet (but for some reason it seemed like the crowd was on their feet all night). I think Chris Allen was a little boring tonight. Matt Giraud has a strong voice but seems a bit fearful each week. I always think he's going to cry when the judges say something mean. Watch next time...you'll see what I mean.

My pick for the bottom two is Matt Giraud and Allison Iraheta. I don't think Allison deserves to be in the bottom again, but I think the whole "lack of personality" thing that the judges point out every week, along with Simon's comment will pursuade the public.

Matt Giraud will be the next to leave American Idol. There you have it...make sure you leave your pick and we'll see who's right!

American Idol-These Two Go Home?

CLICK HERE to see 5/5/09 Prediction

What can I say...once again Adam Lambert steals the show! His voice, stage presence, originality, Elvis Presley good looks and humbleness all rolled up into one package makes him unbeatable. Chris Allen, never my favorite (I think he's forgettable) is getting surprisingly better week after week. His outstanding performance tonight sealed his safety. Danny Gokey was good and is always consistent, he will stay. Allison Iraheta's voice was incredible but it was not one of my favorite performances, I found it a little boring. She will still definitely be in the final with Adam.

Now which two Idols will go home after last weeks surprising save? Unfortunately I think Matt Giraud will go this week. His performance wasn't bad, but he seemed to be singing for his life (trying to hard) but not really hitting the mark. Lil Rounds will be the other one to go home. She has been getting worse each week.

The public (YOU) will probably want to show the judges that YOU decided last week who you didn't want and will be anxious to show the judges who's still in charge of this competition.

Anoop Desai will survive one final week. So there you have it...let me know your opinion and we'll see who's right tomorrow!

Adam Lambert was amazing as usual tonight. I don't think anyone will be able to beat him. His voice is ridiculous, showmanship amazing and always original. Allison Iraheta will be the final girl standing and will be battling it out with Adam at the end. I feel that Anoop "Dog" Desai or Lil Rounds will be the next to go home, however I always seem to forget about Chris Allen...he is forgettable and had a weak performance. I thought Matt Giraud did better than the judges gave him credit for. Danny Gokey will be in the final three, he is consistently good.

There's my predictions this week...let me know what you think!

American Idol-Who Goes Home?

Wow! That was a great show. This year probably has the most talent ever. So after last nights country show, the question is, "Who should go home?" My favorite of the night was Danny Gokey...that song always gets me. I wasn't very impressed with Scott McIntyre's performance, I don't think his voice is as strong as the other contestants. If they are basing it on voices only, I think he should go home tonight but people are very sympathetic to his disability.

The judges didn't like Michael Sarver last night, but I thought he was great. He should definitely receive a country contract with someone. Now about Adam Lambert's rendition of "Ring of Fire," it was kind of freaky, a little Goth/Nine Inch Nails vibe. This particular Johnny Cash song is "our" song (every couple has an anthem and this is ours.) So that middle eastern version was a little hard for us to get. But I have to admit, his voice is incredible, he's different (stands out) and he kind of looks like a young Elvis Presley. Before you say, "WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT," take a look. Watch when he sings...there's something that is really similar.

I loved Megan Joy Corkery...yes, I'm a fan of hers. She was even sick and did great. And what about Anoop Dog Desai? Last week I said he should've gone home...this week I loved him and I'm glad he's still in it.

So my prediction about who's going home tonight...Michael Sarver...but I'm hoping that he stays.

American Idol Recap

Last night on American Idol we got to see the group of 13 finalists perform. They each had to perform a Michael Jackson song. Let's make it almost impossible for anyone to sound good! Who can sing Michael's songs without looking like a group of kids out on the town at a Karoake bar? I'll give you a little recap/prediction:

Lil Rounds: "The Way You Make Me Feel"-She is a definite powerhouse/star...but this was probably my least favorite performance. She hit the notes, but just didn't give me chills.
Prediction: She will definitely stay

Scott McIntyre: "Keep The Faith"- The vocals were not very strong and I thought it was boring. He seemed to give better performances when he was able to choose whatever song he wanted. He is a definite crowd favorite though.
Prediction: He will most likely stay this week.

Danny Gokey: "PYT" Danny is consistent in all of his performances, with last night being no exception. Danny is one of my favorites. Of course I was a little worried about him trying to do a M.J. song...but WOW!
Prediciton: He will definitely stay

Michael Sarver (Oil Rigger): "You Are Not." I thought when they put him through to the finals, it was a sympathy thing. I think he's a nice guy and I hope he gets a record deal out of it...but I didn't think he was very good. When he started singing...I thought, "Oh No!" But I have to admit I actually liked it. His voice is better than I remembered.
Prediction: May go home...but I think he deserves to stay another week based on his performance.

Jasmine Murray: "I'll Be There." When they decided to put her through to the finals I was mad. I never thought she sounded very good in previous performances.
However, this was her best performance yet.
Prediction: She may go home.

Chris Allen: "Remember The Time." I didn't remember Chris at all. I didn't like his performance very well. I didn't like that song with the guitar. He sings okay, but I just never remember him. All the judges liked him.
Prediction: He will probably get stay.

Allison Iraheta: "Give Him To Him." I think her voice is amazing. I didn't like the "rocker" spin on the song and thought this was her weakest performance.
Prediction: She will stay.

Anoop "Dog" Desan: "Beat It." I was glad when they brought him back, but I hated this performance. It was worse than the Bobby Brown song.
Prediction: He will DEFINITELY go home.

Jorge Nunez: "Never Can Say Goodbye." Last week I loved his performance...this week...I still loved his performance. He is a great singer, you could even hear his accent a little more. He's so good, he could be a member of "Il Divo."
Prediction: He will stay.

Meghan Joy Corkery: "Rockin Robin" I was so glad they brought Meghan back, she is gorgeous, different, quirky, and awkward when she performs. Ryan called her dance "the Corkery." She has that special "Something." Her voice is very unique.
Predicttion: I hope she stays!

Adam Lambert: "Black or White." This guy is untouchable. His voice completely blows everyone else away. He should win the whole show...but it seems like it switches each year and since last year was a boy, it might be a girls turn.
Prediction: Will be staying!

Matt Giraud (aka Justin Timberlake): "Human Nature." I like Matt but I thought the vocals. In the past he seemed to grab your attention. Tonight he was a little flat. The judges liked him though.
Prediction: He should stay.

Alexis Grace: "Dirty Diana." She has a gret voice, style and did a great job. She can belt out the huge notes.
Prediction: She will stay.

Now for my favorites...Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert, Meghan Joy Corkery, Jorge Nunez, and Lil Rounds, in that order.

We'll see how good my predictions are later tonight.
